Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia Are Uniting to Bring Central Europe Innovation to Silicon Valley
We4startups is a joint pilot project of the Visegrad countries in Silicon Valley, bringing together top 12 startups from the region between April 21-23, 2015. Startups will get an opportunity to showcase their qualities in the mecca of innovation and get inspired by the heritage of success stories of companies such as Facebook, Google, Airbnb and others. The three-day program will be concluded on Thursday April 23 with the main pitching session for the local community of investors and entrepreneurs, held together with Silicon Valley Forum, the US partner of this initiative.
The twelve startups selected by national committees comprise:
– Czech Republic: Brand Embassy, Manta Tools, AngelCam
– Hungary: Slamby, Freelusion, Gravity
– Poland: XTRF, Sesame+, Zencard
– Slovakia: Mentegram, Staffino, Droppie
The event aims to foster cooperation among V4 countries, enhance international awareness of the Visegrad startup ecosystem and pave the way for establishment of the permanent Visegrad platform representing startups from the Visegrad countries in Silicon Valley.
We4startups is organized by the Slovak Organization for Research and Development Activities (SOVVA) in cooperation with partners StartupYard (CZ), Hungarian Association for Innovation and Polish Confederation Lewiatan. The project is supported by the International Visegrad Fund and KPMG as the main private partner.
