NFTs are dynamically entering Instagram and Facebook
Meta has recently been very active in the market and utilization of digital objects promoting the interests and content of digital art creators
Users who leverage Meta’s services will be able to post their NFTs on both Instagram and Facebook.
Users can connect their wallets like Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, and Dapper Wallet to post digital collectibles.
“As we continue to develop digital NFTs on Facebook and Instagram, we’ve started giving people the ability to post the digital items they own on both Facebook and Instagram. This will allow people to connect their digital wallets once with either of the two apps in order to share their digital collectibles in both,” the company said in its blog post.
The company has been experimenting with NFTs on both of its platforms since May.
In addition to expanding support for viewing different digital collectibles, the app’s researchers noted that the company is also working on custom animations for NFTs posts and collections of digital collectibles. Earlier in the year, Zuckerberg had mentioned that Meta would work to promote NFTs through Instagram Stories and will also make them compatible with Spark AR.
While other platforms like Twitter and Reddit have focused on NFT-based avatars, Meta is trying to reach a wider audience by introducing features that will allow people to showcase their digital collectibles through posts. The company’s plan is to support blockchain services and digital wallets so that more crypto-engaged people can promote their digital art on a mainstream platform.
On the other hand, people who want to deal with cryptos can see NFT posts like other posts in their feeds so they can learn more about them.
Many artists posted their NFT creations on Instagram long before the platform started supporting them.
So, the company is trying to create “a guide” to support creators.
In May, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri said the company is exploring sales of digital collectibles so creators have another avenue to make money.
The company has also expressed a desire to create a marketplace that could be used to purchase items in the metaverse.
