Global Founders Capital invests in Yamsafer

Yamsafer, a Middle East hotel booking startup closed a $3,5 million Series B funding round, which was led by Global Founders Capital (GFC), an European investment fund set up in 2013 by Rocket Internet founders Oliver and Marc Samwer.Yamsafer_logo_onecolor

It seems to be GFC’s first investment in the online travel in the Middle East region, although Rocket Internet has previously invested in Namshi, a regional online fashion retailer and at the same time has multiple global travel investments, such as Traveloka in Indonesia or Trivago in Germany. Yamsafer, which is located in the West Bank of Palestine, plans to use the new capital in order to accelerate growth and expand its team. Today, Yamsafer has around 4.000 properties bookable via its platform.
