A huge deal in the catering sector was closed by Delivery Hero, in which efood is included.
On July 1, 2022, the acquisition of the companies ALPHA DISTRIBUTIONS SA, INKAT SA, DELIVERY. GR and E-TABLE of the Mouchalis Group was completed.
The agreement was announced in October 2021, and in the meantime received the unanimous approval of the Competition Commission for its implementation based on commitments submitted by Delivery Hero.
With this acquisition, Delivery Hero and efood expand their activities in the retail and wholesale sector in Greece, while expanding the portfolio of services and solutions they offer to their customers.
ALPHA DISTRIBUTIONS and INKAT SA have many years of activity in the Greek market, having executives with significant experience and an extensive network of privately owned and cooperating stores (kiosks, mini markets, convenience stores).
Since 2020, efood, a subsidiary of Delivery Hero in Greece, had already launched its cooperation with INKAT for the distribution of retail products from the efood market service.
Upon completion of the acquisition, the business procedures and the experienced staff of the Mouchalis Group companies will be integrated into efood, enhancing the strategic development of the company and the dynamic expansion of the supermarket distribution service, focusing on the rapid service of the consumer for everyday essentials.
At the same time, as part of the strategic plan of the partnership between the two companies, the retail network of convenience stores and partner stores of the Mouchalis Group will be expanded, both in terms of number of points of sale and geographically.

Regarding the acquisition of E-TABLE in particular, Delivery Hero, through efood, made certain commitments to the Competition Commission for two years from the completion of the transaction, remaining faithful to its principles and values for respect for free competition and the relationship of trust it has with its customers-businesses and users.
In this context, it will ensure that each customer can freely choose to purchase separately the services of ordering and / or delivery of efood from the table reservation services of e-table, without imposing any kind of obligation to purchase these services in combination.
Also, no special discounts will be provided, nor will the services be offered at a lower price if the customer wishes to buy both types of services and for each service a separate pricing policy will apply. These commitments will be included in the terms of cooperation with customers, who will be informed by relevant communication.
At the same time, Delivery Hero, fully respecting the provisions for the protection of the personal data of its users, will handle the data of the users of e-table and efood in full compliance with them when sending promotional updates.
