Travelbook Group acquires the greek startup GuestFlip

The greek online Reputation Management Platform, that helps hotels monitor their reviews from multiple channels, was acquired by UK-based Travelbook Group, a well-established revenue driven hotel technology provider.

GuestFlip enables hotels to monitor easily and efficiently their reviews from multiple channels, such as Booking.com, Expedia, Google, TripAdvisor and many more.At the same time hotels can respond easily and fast by using multiple, personalized and targeted answering options, depending on the different reviews from the customers, which are created automatically through the use of artificial intelligence.

GuestFlip was founded in 2018 by Stratos Botis and Aris Pattakos, when they were still students at the Athens University of Economics and Business, when they realized how important online reputation for hotels was and that the biggest brands had expensive software and specialized staff for this purpose.Aiming to offer small hotels as well as large groups a tool that will be easy to use and allow them to monitor their online reputation without a lot of money or hassle, they put their studies aside for a while and built the GuestFlip product.They brought the first customer in December 2018 and have managed in less than 2 years to work with over 150 hotels.

In March 2020, GuestFlip raised its first fund of 200,000 euros from Metavallon VC, while later it was discriminated in the first round of CapsuleT Accelerator, receiving the first place and 10,000 euros and entered the top 10 of the 7th Envolve Award Greece.During he previous months, the company was obviously affected by the pandemic , like the entire tourism industry, but despite the difficulties the company continued and now through this strategic acquisition, it is in GuestFlip’s immediate plans to expand rapidly worldwide by improving constantly its platform and enriching it with new products and potentials which will facilitate reputation management.

Travelbook, which for more than 25 years provides technological solutions to hotels and currently has been cooperating with more than 250 accommodations worldwide, realizing the importance of hotels’ online reputation and how much it is associated with theincrease of occupancy and revenue, judged that GuestFlip is the best choice among all online reputation management platforms. It acquired GuestFlip platform and made it part of the startup company GuestFlip Ltd in Cyprus.

Regarding the decision of this acquisition at this time when there are hardships for hotel industry, the CEO of Travelbook Group and the newly established GuestFlip Ltd, Lefteris Sergidis, comments: “The current economic situation in tourism industry is temporary while the future still exists and GuestFlip is the future for online reputation management in the tourism industry.
