Siemens honored 15 women and men who stood out as Inventors of the Year for 2021

In recent years, Siemens has been among the companies that submit the highest number of patent applications worldwide. The resulting patents lay the foundations for the future success and development of Siemens as a technology company. The inventions of the laureates cover the entire range of Siemens’ activities and enhance innovation in the way the company understands it: as a technology that serves people and improves their daily lives. Since 1995, Siemens has been awarding the Inventors of the Year Awards every year to R&D workers who have stood out and whose inventions contribute substantially to the company’s success. Since 2016, these awards have also been awarded to researchers outside the company.
Siemens filed approximately 2,500 patent applications worldwide in fiscal year 2021. In total, the company owns more than 43,400 subsidised patents. During fiscal year 2021, Siemens employees reported 4,483 inventions or about 20 inventions per business day.
