Outset Medical, a startup medical-technology company that is planning to make the experience of getting kidney dialysis easier on patients, and eventually turn dialysis into something that can be done in the home, raised an impressive amount of 60 million dollars in a Series B funding. The company is making a small, lightweight system that can do the same work that today is done by bulky machines. Outset Medical at first is looking to get its system into dialysis clinics, and after that begin the process of moving the technology into patients homes.
