Patras IQ: Innovation and transfer of know-how 

Patras IQ has been held since 2012 with the aim of creating a critical competitive advantage both in the research community and in the productive sector, through a continuous effort to solve problems and implement innovative ideas for the development of new ones and the optimization of existing products and services that aspire to occupy a share in the national and global market.

For its organization, a 10-year Programme Contract (2016 – 2026) has been signed between the cooperating bodies: the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Development and Investments, the Region of Western Greece, the Hellenic Open University, the Chamber of Achaia and the University of Patras, which make up the Patras IQ Organizing Committee, chaired by the University of Patras.The whole effort has gained significant awards by winning the Education Business Awards 2016 and the National European Enterprise Promotion Awards –2017 in the category “Promotion of Entrepreneurship”.

The 7th Patras IQ in phygital form 4-6 December 2021

The 7th Patras IQ Exhibition is organized on 4,5 and 6 December 2021 virtually and with parallel digital communication, giving the opportunity to exhibitors and participants to gain access and visibility to a larger number of stakeholders and to increase the opportunities to develop partnerships with multiple benefits both for the participants and for the real economy.

It is accompanied by a multidisciplinary face-to-face conference program with representatives of the state, investors and speakers with specialized knowledge on intellectual property issues, technology transfer, research and innovation funding mechanisms, as well as a presentation of success stories.

Within the framework of the individual parallel networking and promotional actions, exhibitors will be given the opportunity to make their own face-to-face presentation of their stand. All events will be available for live streaming and on-demand viewing through the PATRAS IQ platform.

An additional feature added to this event is the extended session of the virtual exhibition, as it will remain active until Sunday 12.12.21 (with selected communication hours in real time) with access to on demand events of the three-day event 4, 5, 6.12.2021, virtual kiosks, live streaming events and scheduled meetings with the exhibitors.

At this point, it should be noted that since 2012, when the first Patras IQ was organized, there has been a steady cooperation with financial funds and venture capitals, while their representatives participate in each exhibition either as speakers at events, or as judges in business competitions and / or as interlocutors in B2B meetings.

Patras IQ offers visitors the opportunity to come into contact with the country’s research potential, since through virtual reality they will be able to visit the exhibitors’ stands, get to know innovative businesses and attend events with recognized speakers and institutions on innovation and entrepreneurship issues, as well as participate in competitions of innovative ideas.

Actions to support innovation and entrepreneurship

There will be a plethora of parallel events and actions, such as workshops, speeches and presentations as well as B2B meetings with investment funds, institutions and businesses that are leading the way in the field.

Moreover, there will be pitching events with student groups, scientific competitions, seminars of entrepreneurship development tools and finally competitions to highlight and reward original ideas.
