Cask Data, Inc. an Hadoop developer raised $20 million in a Series B financing round led by Safeguard Scientifics and had the participation of Battery Ventures, Ignition Partners etc.
The company builds an application server for Hadoop that helps developers to deliver enterprise-class Hadoop solutions more quickly and effectively. Called Cask Data Application Platform (CDAP), its open-source solution provides governance, portability, security, scalability and transactional consistency atop of Hadoop. Till date, the company has raised $32.5 million in total.
