Demokritos and the American College of Greece collaborate to support innovation in the field of startups
The National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos“ joins forces with the American College of Greece to expand and intensify the efforts of both institutions in the axes of innovation and economic development.
Starting in 2022, “Demokritos” will host ACG Innovation Hub@Demokritos, which will be a nursery for startups, VC investors, research collaborations, and other aspects of innovation. In an extensive Memorandum of Cooperation between the two institutions, which was signed in July 2021, “Demokritos” and the American College of Greece agreed to cooperate in other fields, including research work and exchanges of researchers/ academic staff.
“The ecosystem of “Demokritos” offers space and encouragement for innovation at the level of startup and beyond, hosting companies ranging from spin-offs to the R&D Department of Tesla. We are very happy to welcome as a partner the American College of Greece in this new venture, which will further expand the influence of “Demokritos” on innovation and support for entrepreneurship.”, said Dr. George Nunesis, president of “Demokritos.”

ACG Innovation Hub@Demokritos is expected to start its work from spring 2022, under the direction of the Research, Technology and Innovation Network of the American College of Greece.
