Cyprus’ first cohort graduates from the Academy of Women Entrepreneurs
The program, funded by U.S. Embassy Nicosia and implemented for the first time in Cyprus this year offered free training to women entrepreneurs wishing to launch new ventures or scale existing businesses.
CyprusInno proudly announces the conclusion of the 2023 Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) in Cyprus. The program, funded by U.S. Embassy Nicosia and implemented for the first time in Cyprus this year offered free training to women entrepreneurs wishing to launch new ventures or scale existing businesses.
AWE combined localized in-class mentoring and training facilitation at The Base by CyprusInno through the DreamBuilder online platform, and covered core business skills such as strategic planning, marketing, financial management, pitching, legal, and more.
During AWE, entrepreneurs participated in hands-on interactive workshops and training sessions with industry experts, heard inspiring stories from successful female entrepreneurial leaders, received supplementary subject matter specific mentoring, joined networking events and site visits to women- owned businesses, attended industry events, practiced pitching, engaged in peer-learning, and more!
“The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs has offered me an invaluable community where I felt both empowered and genuinely heard among my fellow entrepreneurs. The program provided a remarkable opportunity to establish a strong foundation for my business while also connecting me with remarkable women and mentors who have been instrumental in my entrepreneurial journey,” said Lama Swas, one of the AWE 2023 graduates.
Another AWE 2023 graduate, Monica Potsou, said she felt “grateful for having attended this program, connected with other like-minded women.” Monica added that AWE helped her to boost herself and re-establish her business idea, which had been on pause for the past 5 years.
Graduating participants received a graduation certificate from the U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus, Mrs. Jule D. Fisher, during a graduation ceremony held at The Base by CyprusInno in Nicosia.
CyprusInno expresses gratitude to all participants, trainers, mentors, speakers, and U.S. Embassy Nicosia, who all contributed to the success of the first Academy for Women Entrepreneurs in Cyprus. CyprusInno remains committed to fostering continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation for women within the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
