Boku acquired Mobileview Italia

Boku, a US-based company that enables consumers to pay for goods via their phone bill or phone credit, acquired Mobileview Italia from its parent company dtms. With the purchase, Boku gets access to the major mobile carriers in Italy (Telecom Italia Mobile, Vodafone, Wind and 3), covering more than 87 million mobile subscriptions.

The company is backed by a series of investors, such as Andreessen Horowitz, Benchmark Capital, DAG Ventures, Index Ventures, Khosla Ventures and NEA. Last year Boku acquired Qubecell, India’s largest carrier billing company in an attempt to expand its presence in India, Asia and the Middle East.
