Polygreen: Acquires Vassilakopoulos Recycling active in the collection and management of recyclable materials

Polygreen, a leader in environmental protection, made a significant investment announcing the acquisition of Vassilakopoulos Recycling S.A., a company active in the collection and management of recyclable materials. This acquisition is the first step of Polygreen’s ambitious investment plan for 2022, with the aim of offering its clientele in Greece a complete package of waste management services.

With the acquisition of Vassilakopoulos Recycling S.A., Polygreen upgrades its facilities and strengthens its infrastructure in Greece, adding to its potential a functional and profitable unit that has a privately owned unit in the heart of the industrial area, in Aspropyrgos, Attica, modern equipment and a remarkable fleet of vehicles.

At the same time, it vertically integrates its offered services in the field of recycling, undertaking the collection, sorting, transport and baling of materials, and expands its existing portfolio through the network of the newly acquired company.

“It is with great emotion that we receive this unit from the Vassilakopoulos family and Georgios Vassilakopoulos, a man who played a leading role in Greece both in the field of society and sports, as well as in that of recycling and environmental care, with vision, consistency and innovation. With the acquisition of Vassilakopoulos Recycling S.A. we are expanding the portfolio of services offered by Polygreen to our customers, aiming soon to become a one-stop-shop for all those who are interested in the proper management of their recyclable waste. Our first concern is to drastically increase the production volumes of the plant, thus increasing its turnover. At the same time, we are vigorously continuing our investment plan for this year, remaining faithful to our commitment to lead the transition from a linear to a circular model of economy, which today is a central political priority at an international level.”, stated Mr. Athanasios Polychronopoulos, President and CEO of Polygreen.

It is noted that Polygreen is a Greek-owned company, founded in 2018 and started its operation in Greece in March 2021 and operating in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It undertakes and successfully implements worldwide projects that are particularly demanding, at a technical level, in the fields of circular economy as well as environmental protection and restoration.
