Startups, ideas, funds and new markets at Patras IQ

The 7th Patras IQ Innovation and Know-how Transfer Exhibition is organized on 4, 5, 6 December 2021 virtually and with parallel digital communication, while the 50 digital exhibition stands in which startups and mature businesses, research projects and mature research ideas, research laboratories, institutes and their support bodies are promoted. The digital stands will remain open to visitors through the platform until Sunday 12.12.21

There will be held 20 sessions over the three-day period in the halls of the University’s Conference and Cultural Center, with the participation of 120 speakers from Greece and abroad.

Additionally, there will be speeches with rich topics, such as technology transfer, funding of basic and applied research, incubators for innovation, technological developments in production, innovation support mechanisms, research-market connections, success stories and awards, are addressed to professionals and the general public.

Representatives of the state, funds, banks and the business world will present funding opportunities and the development of partnerships. Specifically, their presence will be stated by the Minister Adonis Georgiadis, who will present the keynote speech of the conference and the Deputy Ministers Christos Dimas, A. Syrigos, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andreas Katsaniotis and the General Secretary for Research and Innovation Professor Athanasios Kyriazis. Also, Professor Pericles Mitkas, first president of the National Authority for Higher Education and representatives of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the European Union, will be present.

At the same time, the industrial PhDs implemented by the University of Patras will be presented giving answers about the essence of the research-production interface with the partner companies TITAN, ELVALHALCOR, DEMO/Pharmaceutical Industry, ADAMANT AEROSPACE APPLICATIONS, ELIN VERD SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, and INTRACOM.

Three European Patent Attorneys will inform stakeholders on intellectual property issues while two technology transfer consultants operating in the global market will explain how innovation can create new markets.

Also, 3 important Competence Centers of Western Greece, two of the University of Patras and one of FORTH/ΙEXMI (Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences), that are expected to affect the dynamics not only of the region but also of the country itself with an expected impact abroad, will have the chance to present their actions.

Patras IQ will also include the Research Institutes active in Western Greece, the Hellenic Open University, the University of Peloponnese, the Region of Western Greece and the Chambers of Achaia.

Patras IQ is organized by the Ministries of Development and Investments, Education and Religious Affairs, the University of Patras, the Hellenic Open University, the Region of Western Greece and the Chamber of Achaia.
