realme promotes its commitment and vision to become a sustainable company that contributes to a better world, with the realme 8 5G and realme 8i officially recognized by the Eco Rating labelling system.
Eco Rating was jointly created by five leading mobile operators in Europe – Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefónica (which operates under the O2 and Movistar brands), Telia Company and Vodafone – as a new labelling system for every industry, with the aim of encouraging suppliers to reduce the environmental impact of their devices.
By assessing the environmental impact of the entire process of production, transport, use and disposal of devices, the Eco Rating labelling system helps customers make consistent choices based on sustainability, providing an overall score of 1 to 100. The closer the score to 100, the better the device’s sustainability score.
The realme 8 5G and realme 8i have received high scores, 76/100 and 80/100 respectively. These two devices achieved similar high results in the field of resource efficiency, with 8 5G receiving 85/100 scores and 8i 90/100.
Commenting on the new ratings, Madhav Sheth, Vice President of realme, President of its International Group of Companies and CEO of realme Europe, stated:”As an industry, we are committed to a better future and in realme we are transparent with our consumers through the Eco Rating labelling system, which is a positive step towards achieving this goal.
All of us at realme insist on this with the new evaluations of realme 8 5G and realme 8i, as well as with the E-Waste Management Program, which gives incentives for the safe recycling of electronic waste and tries to launch more environmentally friendly products in the near future.
Through the product line we’ve launched, including smartphones, headphones and tablets, we’ve already used technology for the benefit of the environment, as Going and Living Green is our absolute priority.
At the same time, we are developing a unique – environmentally friendly – smartphone, aiming to drastically reduce CO2 emissions. This product will reach Europe in the near future.”
