MEDIACORE IMPROVES HIGHER EDUCATION

MediaCore (www.mediacore.com) the cloud-based video education platform startup, is changing the face of higher education through the easy management and delivery of high-definition video straight from the lecture theatre and into a student’s mobile device. MediaCore is winning contracts against more established players with new customers including Columbia University, Penn State, University of London, Edmodo, Τhe Royal Veterinary College, The City University of New York, Indiana University and a large number of K-12 schools globally. The platform currently hosts more than 300,000 educational videos.

The rapid adoption of MediaCore by paying customers has enabled the company to raise over $3M to-date from private investors. In addition, it has secured a wide range of awards and, most recently, was recognized by Fast Company as one of the top 10 most innovative companies in digital video alongside Vimeo, Hulu and YouTube.

MediaCore is also providing the video and content platform for Kepler, a non-profit university program in Rwanda designed for the developing world, which combines MOOCs (free online courses from top U.S. and European universities) with in-person seminars and intensive education-to-employment, all for around $1,000 per year and accredited by an American university.

Having experienced rapid growth this year, MediaCore is now at 26 employees. The team has a strong web technology background and this is the third technology company the founders have built.
