Venice-based sustainability and data platform illuminem has secured 2 million euros in a pre-seed funding round. The funding round was led by BlackWood, a Copenhagen-based venture capital firm focused on fintech and cleantech startups in the pre-seed and seed stages across Europe.
The round also attracted investment from Greece-based Genesis, Fortino Capital, an Antwerp-based company focused on startups across Northwest Europe, Milan-based Eden Ventures and New York-based Techstars. The investment involved key climate leaders, including CEOs and Chief Sustainability Officers from major companies including South Pole, Vestas, Tikehau Capital, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Carbonsink, Magaldi Technologies LLC and TAQA Group. In addition, founders from startups like iubenda and Volteris contributed to the investment.
Its product is the only Sustainability Sales Navigator that maximizes sustainability sales based on ESG information and intent data, collected from the 250 thousand users involved with illuminem.
The platform serves as a central hub for the latest information and data on energy and sustainability, providing users with the knowledge they need to make proper decisions. Illuminem is more than just an information repository. It’s a thriving community where changemakers from diverse backgrounds and expertise focus on sustainability.
