Nikos Christodoulou, Partner and Consulting Leader of Deloitte, presented the analysis focusing on the Interoperability Center of the Ministry of Digital Governance and the benefits it creates, especially for the back office functions of the Greek Public Administration and, by extension, of citizens.

The Interoperability Center, which enables public administration bodies to communicate with each other through web services, on a 24-hour basis, interconnects 431 information systems, having carried out (since January 2020) 417 million user authentications and served 459 million internet calls.

The new study estimates a saving of 2 euros in the back office of the Public Administration for each call made to the gov.gr and which is added to the 1 euro of citizens’ savings, as estimated by the study “From the state 0.2 to the state 2.0”.

In total, the potential benefit over five years is estimated at 3 billion euros both for citizens and for the Public Administration.

On his part, the Minister of Digital Governance Kyriakos Pierrakakis noted that the important findings come as a result of a new way of operating the Public Administration and the consolidation of the vision that Greece is reformable.

In the context of the discussion that followed and which was moderated by Dimitris Koutsopoulos, CEO of Deloitte Greece, the participants had the opportunity to discuss with the Minister about the significant changes that have taken place so far in the Public Administration and about the next steps that will lead to the acceleration of the digital transformation of the state, for the benefit of citizens and businesses.

“Important steps have been taken in the transformation of the Public Administration. For our part, by belonging to an organization that can offer added value to the transformation of the state, drawing know-how from our global network, we can contribute substantially to this transformation. May this path continue in order to highlight Greece even more.”, stated Dimitris Koutsopoulos, CEO of Deloitte Greece.
