The amount of $37.5 million in a Series B funding was raised by Portea Medical, a startup that provides in-home healthcare in India.
The process was led by Accel and had the participation of International Finance Corporation (IFC), Qualcomm Ventures and Ventureast.
With the new capital, Portea Medical is planning to expand into South and Southeast Asian markets and nearly triple its employees from 3,000 to 8,000 over the next 18 months!
The startup has clinicians in 24 cities who make 60,000 in-home visits per month and serves 50,000 patients, 40% of whom are actively using its services.
