Cluey (www.cluey.com) the award-winning Irish developer of cross-platform, cloud-based Point of Sale (POS) and Customer Management (CRM) software for bars, cafes and restaurants, is pleased to announce a global launch of its innovative new system at the Web Summit on October 30th 2013.
Cluey’ s pioneering POS system is one of the first fully–featured systems designed to work on almost any device, including tablets, smartphones and traditional touchscreen PCs and registers. The system is quick to setup and simple to use and includes a complete marketing and loyalty system.
Within an hour, a business owner can be up and running with a next generation Point Of Sale system at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems. Features include central web-based reporting for single or multiple outlets, tableside ordering, payment via mobile devices and exchange of customer orders between waiting and kitchen staff.
CEO and co-founder of Cluey, Fergus Lynch, announced that the company has recently raised $1 million (€700,000) to support the new launch. The company’s first externally sourced investment round was led by AIB Seed Capital Fund (managed by Dublin BIC) and Delta Partners, alongside funding from Enterprise Ireland and private investors.
As winners of the iGAP 2013 for best high potential start-up and the Best New Product Award from the Hospitality Institute, Cluey already has a proven track record for success. With an established customer base across the UK and Ireland, as well as a growing market in the US, the investment provides Cluey with a substantial platform to support this highly anticipated global launch. Agents across the US, UK, Ireland, France, Canada and Australia have already been appointed to ensure a smooth introduction.
“Cluey removes the IT headaches that many businesses have” stated Lynch. He also described how Cluey’ s unique approach offers “a complete Business Operating System – that can increase sales through its loyalty and marketing system, save on serving times, improve customer experience and provide live data and reports”.
Commenting on the announcement, Richard Watson, Dublin BIC, said “While POS markets are well established with numerous solution providers, Cluey’ s system is truly next generation. Its intuitive and extensive functionality, together with its ability to run on low cost mobile devices and touchscreen PCs, provides a very attractive offering for hospitality businesses”
David Bowles of Delta Partners said “We are excited to be investing in Cluey. This is a truly disruptive technology and will revolutionise the management of restaurants, cafes and bars.”
Small businesses can try the system for free, and subscriptions start from $39 per month per-terminal for larger outlets.
