The Mill of the Elves, the largest Christmas theme park in Greece, and the city of Trikala, welcomed the first electric buses, which transported the visitors of the theme Park from the city center to the Mill of the Elves, making this year’s event a little Greener.
The Mill of the Elves, the largest Christmas theme park in Greece, opened for yet another year in the city of Trikala and offered a series of activities that filled its visitors with joy and optimism.
This year’s event, however, had something different. This year, for the first year, the protection of the environment and sustainability was a key priority of the event. The zero environmental footprint, the sensitivity to the protection of the environment, recycling and the use of renewable energy sources were just some of the “green” topics of this year’s event.
In this context, the Mill of the Elves and the city of Trikala welcomed the first electric buses, which performed the transportation project, transporting the visitors of the theme Park from the city center to the Mill of the Elves.
The use of electric buses was included in the framework of sustainable urban mobility actions, which is one of the theme of the park, and highlights the value and benefits of using renewable energy sources for the environment.
Specifically, the event used an electric bus of the company BYD, 12.5 meters long, which was offered by the company Petros Petropoulos, to support this important effort.
BYD (Build your Dreams) is one of the pioneers in electromobility, having a long presence in Asia and America. BYD, which invested hundreds of millions of euros to expand its network, setting up factories in Europe as well, now lists 37 factories around the world. So far it has completed 1,100,000 vehicle deliveries and 52,000 BYD deliveries of electric buses in 200 cities, while within 20 years it has managed to sell thousands of buses in most European countries, taking a leading position in the European market.
The official distributor of BYD in Greece is Petros Petropoulos, a company that this year closes 100 years of presence in the Greek automotive industry and with this collaboration continues to seek progress and innovation with responsibility.
