Nokia Networks will sponsor the 5G network architecture related research at the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany and work closely with the university to study the changes that are required in the telco architecture going forward.
5G networks will have to meet a wide array of diverse and extreme requirements, since there be a need for super fast and reliable connectivity with virtually zero latency, providing consistent and high quality connectivity for people and things. To address these requirements, Nokia Networks is working with leading research universities, such as University of Kaiserslautern, an academic leader in network architecture research, to define the next-generation network architecture. The cooperation with University of Kaiserslautern focuses on understanding the requirements of the Internet of Things and developing architecture components to address its needs.
