Lyft raised funding $100M from Carl Icahn

A new 150 million dollars was raised recently from Lyft, a ridesharing startup, from which the $100 million were contributed from the multimillionaire investor Carl Icahn, and his Icahn Enterprises. The last couple of months, the company has raised totally something more than 680 million dollars. The company is planning to use the new capital in order to invest deep in new services and developing new products and user-focus functions. Mr. Icahn stated that he believes that ridesharing is poised to become a fundamental component of our transportation infrastructure. “Lyft’s revenue growth to date has been extremely compelling, and increasing urbanization over the next 5 to 10 years should enable the company to maintain that trajectory. Additionally, I’ve been very impressed with Lyft’s founders and management team, and I believe they are well-suited to take advantage of this opportunity and to make Lyft an extremely successful company”.
